Uses of Eucalyptus oil

Eucalyptus oil is a powerful antiseptic and disinfectant, and may be used as substitute of tea tree oil. Inhalation of this oil sooth inflammation in upper respiratory passage and sore throat. It helps in diarrhoea, because of its digestive power, and has a diuretic activity. It gives relief in rheumatoid arthritis, neuralgia, and is very effective in respiratory problems like asthma, bronchitis, catarrh and cough. It heals skin diseases like herpes, ulcers, and wounds. The common doze of this oil is one to two drops in a teaspoon of sugar. It may be used along with an equal quantity of peppermint oil. By mixing it in mustard oil, it is used as massage oil in chronic rheumatism. It may be sprayed in the room as a freshener, deodorant and as an insect repellent. Fennel oil (Saunf ka sat or aniseed oil). The emulsion form of this oil is known as Ark Suanf or Ark Badiyan, used as a carminative. The oil is generally added to the extract of Mulathi for throat problems and cough. It helps in various digestive diseases like colitis, constipation, flatulence (gas), food poisoning, hiccough, helps in excretion of waste from the body and gives relief in kidney stone, obesity and in menopausal irregularity.
