Cancer - AyurvedaTreatment with Ayurveda medicines

The various herbs, which can be used for these purposes, can be given in the dose mentioned three times a day.

Almond and Fig

Both almond and fig have benzaldehyde in very low quantity and these have cured many cancerous patients. Ten gm of processed almonds along with equal amount of fig should be consumed in day.

Note: Almond contains traces of cyanide, which is deactivated by heating the seed for 20-30 minutes at 35*C.

Ashwagndha

It (3-6gm) helps in cancer by arresting the growth of fast dividing cells, provides protection to cells against cancers, lessens the deleterious effects of various chemicals and rays during chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The administration of the herb to cancer patients prevented the decrease in the body weight of the patients.

Babchi

One gram dose of this seed has preventive and therapeutic effect on lung cancer(lung adenocarcinoma). It changes tissue structure of lulngs byl immulnological action.

Brahmi

A dose of 500-750 mg inhibits the growth of tumor cells, reduces the toxicity of chemotherapeutic agents during cancer treatment, and increases the life span of the cancerous patients. The dry extract of the herb destroys tumor cells, with no effect on normal white blood cells. A product, Braham Rasayana, made from the herb, inhibited sarcoma development, and carcinogenesis but increased the life span of animals.

Chitrak

A dose of 250-1000 mg causes regression of tumor, when applied externally during canser therapy.

Green Tea

It may prevent the cancer of esophagus. The polyphenols in tea have anti-oxidant effect, which stop the action of enzymes that promote cancer. Tea does not help in the cancer of smokers, users of hot soups and drinkers.

Haritaki

A doze of 1-1.25 gm protects the cells of the body against cancer-causing agents (mutagens).

Jal Brahmi

A dose of 250-500 mg of the herb has anti-cancerous property.

Kalmegh

A dose of 500 gm causes cell differentiation in bone marrow leukemia.

Keshar

A dose of 100 mg prevents cancer, inhibits tumor formation and helps in skin tumors (papilloma).

Khairsar

The active constituent catechin has been used as chemopreventive agents for stomach tumor. Its effect gets enhanced if 1 gm of it is consumed also with one gram of turmerin.

Kulanjan

1-2 gm doze of this root has chemopreventive and carcinogen detoxification effect.

Methi Dana

Water extract of fenugreek has anti-tumor property. Up to 10 gm of the seed can be used without any side effect.

Mulathi

It inhibits the mutagenic activity of several drugs.

Neem Bark

Bark fractions(2-4 gm) gave good results against cancers of various types and leukemia. It has protective effect also.

Pippali

A doze of 750 mg-1.5 gm protects against induced toxicity, particularly in the case of liver cancer.

Salai Guggal

A doze of 500mg-2 gm helps in leukemia.

Sfhatwari

A doze if 1.5-3 gm protects the body against cancer. An alkaloid, having this effect, has been isolated from this herb.

Vibhitaki or Bibhitaki

A doze of 1-3 gm saves the body from deleterious effects of mutagens.

Tulsi

A doze of 1-2 gm of this herb gives good result in leukemia, provided the patient follows a very rigid regime and simple lifestyle.

Rasayana Therapy

Oral administration of Braham Rasayana, Narsimha rasayana, Ashwagandha rasayana and Amrithaprasham Rasayana increased total leukocyte count, bone marrow cellularity, natural killer cell activity and antibody –dependent cellular cytotoxicity in mice exposed to gamma radiation. These products also reduced radiation induced lipid peroxidation in the liver. These effects may be due to increased stem cell proliferation on free radical induced injury produced by radiation.
