Navarakizhi massage is also used for neuro-muscular diseases, and for muscular weakness. It also improves blood circulation, appetite and digeston.

In Navarakizhi treatment, head and body of the patient are massaged with oil and, the whole body or a part it is fomented with gently application of poultice or rice, milk decoction of herbs in a bag.

During massage with poultice, the cloth bas is squeezed to get poultice, which is then spread all over the body with hand.

Navarakizhi massage takes about one to one and half hours. The surplus poultice left after the above action is spread on the body for about ten minutes.

When Navarakizhi massage is complete, the poultice is scrubbed from the body with a dry cloth. Another massage waith medicated oil is given and patient is asked to take a bath. Navarakizhi treatment is repeated for 7-21 days
