Excessive Bleeding during Menstruation
(Menorrhagia) or at anly time (Metrorrhagia)
(a) Pulverize equal quantities of Lodhra, Ashok, Lal Chandan and boil these in four times of water till raeduced to two, add equal amount of 50 per cent alcohol (vodka or gin) filter and give 20 ml of fluid to the patient.
(b) Give 6 gm of Vidarikand powder with honey.
(c) Pulverize Fitkari and Majuphal to fine powder. Fill a pouch made from cheese cloth (muslin) with this powder, tie it with a thick thread and insert the pouch inside and let it remain there for the night.
(d) Make fine powder of Mulathi and Lodhra, in equal quantities. Take 1 gm of this mixture with 1 gm sugar candy (Mishri).
(e) Decoction made from 20 gm of Lodhra bark relaxes uterine tissue. It has a depressant, anti-oxytoxic effect and act as an astringnent. It promotes resolution of inflammatory masses and exudation. It reduces frequency of contraction in both pregnant and non-pregnant cases
