Ayurveda Remedy for Hyper Acidity
(a) Shankh Bhasam 5 gm, with a drop of peppermint oil.
(b) Half a teaspoon powder of Triphala or Harar Jangi with one teaspoon
of Gulukand.
(c) 5 gm Meetha soda (soda bicarbonate) with a drop each of peppermint
and Ajwain oil.
(d) 10 gm Mukta Pishti or Parval Bhasam three times a day.
(e) Make a mixture of powders of equal parts of Dalchini, Neem bark, Vach,
Amla and Khairsar. Take half teaspoon of this powder with one teaspoon
of Gulukand.
(f) Take decoction made from 10gm mixture of equal quantities of Dhaniya,
Tagar, Bilva, Nagarmotha and Sonth.
(g) Make a mixture of powders of Mulathi, Haritaki, Pippali and Shankh
Bhasam. In a dose of 1-2 gm this mixture shows a faster recovery rate.
It not only acts as an antacid but brings about enzymatic changes in the
digestive system also.
Note : Haritaki is called yogavahni-a substance which when taken with
other herbs increases the efficacy of the latter and facilitates easy
absorption of these by the body. Haritaki is used for resistance to diseases,
and as a restorative against ill-health.
(h) Amala is a suitable alternative to antacids in management of both
ulce and non-ulcer dyspepsia (due to improper digestion of food).
Note : As per Ayurveda, Amalaki is known as sustainer – the fruit
where goddess of prosperity resides.
(i) Avpitkar Churn may be taken 10 gm, three times a day with water.
(j) Aromatic powder : Take 60 gm of Jaiphal powder with 250 gm Shankh
Bhasam, 80 gm Dalchini, 30 gm Lavang and 20 gm Ilaichi dana and 560 gm
sugar (optional). Dose 1-4 gm when with sugar and half of it when without
sugar. (Page No. 28)
(k) Pulverise 12.5 gm Revand Chini, Sonth 5 gm, Shankh Bhasam 3 gm, and
sugar 50 gm (optional). Dose 1.5 gm when with sugar, 500 mg when without
sugar.
